Our servers are specially designed for our hosting environment. Built with the most reliable server components, they are with 2x Quad-core Xeon processors, 8 GB RAM and RAID 6 disk arrays. The hot-swappable HDDs, power supply units and cooling fans allow repairs/replacement of these components while the machine stays online. This design brings the hardware reliability to the highest level.

Linux-based

Our servers are running a heavily-customized version of Debian Linux, one of the most stable server operating systems available.

FTP

FTP, FTP with SSL/ТLS

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is an Internet protocol for data transfers. It allows you to manage the files and directories of your hosting – creation, deletion, uploading, downloading and modification of access rights of both files and directories. Although we offer a web based file manager, you can always install, configure and use a local FTP client on your computer. Several popular FTP clients are FileZilla, WS_FTP, Core FTP, CuteFTP, Transmit for Mac ОS X, Fetch for Mac OS X, Cyberduck for Mac OS X, etc. We provide detailed configuration instructions for each of them. For maximum security our servers support SSL/TLS secure connection between the FTP client and the server. This allows you to be certain that no one can steal or compromise your personal data.

Support for .ftpaccess

.ftpaccess is a plain text file used for configuration of the FTP server. You can use several directives effectively controlling the behavior of the FTP server. For example you can enable/disable the FTP access only from trusted IP addresses or restrict access to some directories for certain user accounts. Uploading, deletion and practically all operations can be controlled by modifying this file. For additional information about .ftpaccess usage, please refer to our online documentation.

FTP Migrator

If you are a new client of Q7Host and you have a web hosting account from another provider, but you want to transfer your data to our servers, our FTP Migrator is perfectly suited for you. Instead of downloading and configuring a new FTP client on your computer to transfer your data to your computer and then to our servers, the FTP Migrator will save your time by transferring the data directly to your new account without your intervention. You must specify only the domain or the IP address of the remote server, your user name and password for access as well as the local directory of your hosting account from Q7Host and the FTP Migrator will download your data with a click of a button. If you have many files, you can opt in for e-mail notification once the download process has finished. It is so simple and easy to migrate to our services.
