Number of Mailboxes: Unlimited

Each of our hosting plans includes unlimited number of mailboxes. This allows you to create an e-mail account for each member of your family, coworkers, friends or business partners. Each mailbox is protected by a user name and password and allows remote access through Webmail or dedicated e-mail clients like Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, Мail for Маc, etc. Our online documentation contains detailed configuration instructions.

Webmail

Each Q7Host account comes with a complete Webmail solution, so you can check your e-mail anytime, anywhere.

Your mailbox has its own address book, basic and advanced e-mail filters, as well as multi-language e-mail support. You can view, compose, forward, save, and edit your messages, as well as set privacy options, and customize most other features.

The address of your online Webmail is easy to remember - just add "/webmail" after your domain name, such as http://www.example.com/webmail. Enter your e-mail account username and password, and you are ready to go!

POP3, POP3 with SSL/TLS

POP3 (Post Office Protocol Version 3) is a data communication protocol enabling standalone e-mail clients (like Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, Мail for Маc, etc.) to process e-mails on a remote server. The client does not need to be permanently connected to the server – it needs to check for new e-mail messages once in a while and download them. Our POP3 servers are configured on ports 110 and 1100.
For maximum security, we support POP3S (POP3 over SSL). All client-server connections are encrypted using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer), which renders man-in-the-middle attacks impossible. Our POP3S servers are configured on port 995. POP3 protocol is limited in direct comparison to IMAP, because it allows only listing, downloading and deletion of messages.

IMAP, IMAP with SSL/TLS

IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) is a modern e-mail data communication protocol enabling standalone e-mail clients (like Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, Мail for Маc, etc.) to process e-mails on a remote server. Compared to POP3, IMAP allows performing all e-mail modifications directly on the server without downloading messages first. Our IMAP servers are configured on port 143.
For maximum security, we support IMAPS (IMAP over SSL) on port 993, which renders man-in-the-middle attacks impossible.

SMTP, SMTP with SSL/TLS

SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) is a protocol used for e-mail messages transportation between separate computers and/or servers. It is used for sending e-mails from a standalone e-mail client, which connects to our servers and transfers the message. Afterwards our servers are responsible for the fast and accurate final delivery to the destination e-mail address. Our SMTP server is configured on port 25. Many ISPs block port 25 to prevent unwanted spam distribution, so we offer port 587 as an alternative one. Both ports can be used for establishing TLS encrypted connection which prevents man-in-the-middle attacks.

Anti-virus Software

E-mail transmitted worms and viruses have recently become quite a problem not only for users around the world, but for Internet Service Providers as well. Here at Q7Host we employ a simple but very powerful anti-virus solution. When enabled, the anti-virus software will scan all incoming messages. In case viruses are found, the server will not deliver the infected messages to the user's mailbox. The anti-virus software is disabled by default. It can be enabled from the Mail Manager in the online Control Panel.

Catch-All

If a certain mailbox is assigned as a "Catch-all" mailbox, all messages designated to non-existing mailboxes in your domain, will be delivered to this mailbox. If you have a mailbox This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and a business partner of yours sends an e-mail to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it omitting "m" from the beginning, this e-mail won't be lost if you have a "Catch-all" mailbox. In the example given you may have set up the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it "Catch-all" mailbox which will receive the e-mail for This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Forwarding

By using e-mail redirection you can redirect each incoming message to another e-mail address, even to more than one. You specify if a copy of each redirected e-mail is left on the server. For example e-mail redirection may come in handy when you want your company to have one primary mailbox used by your business partners. Each partner can have a separate mailbox, but each e-mail is redirected to the primary mailbox, leaving a copy in the partner's mailbox. This allows you to have access to all received messages in the primary mailbox. All e-mails inside cannot be deleted by mistake from a business partner as you are the only one with access to the primary mailbox. Please take into account that the "Catch-all" mailbox cannot be redirected.

Autorespond

By using the Autorespond function you can define a standard answer to any incoming e-mail. This feature is useful when you are on a vacation – instead of continuously checking your mailbox, the Autoresponder informs your clients that their questions will be answered when you are back to work.

Unlimited Size

There is no limit on the incoming or outgoing e-mail size. You can receive or send e-mails as large as the free space in your e-mail mailbox or your hosting account. In case you send an e-mail without leaving a copy on the server, the e-mail size is limited to the receiving server's capabilities and these limitations are irrelevant.

Backup Mail Server

In case you have your own e-mail server and you want to use it for your e-mail management, the configuration is as simple as checking a few options in our DNS Manager. For reliability reasons in case your e-mail server goes offline, you may choose to configure our e-mail server as backup. This way you are protected from network problems, power outages or hacker attacks on your own e-mail server. When our backup server receives an e-mail, it will try to send it to your own (primary) e-mail server until it succeeds. Please note that using this feature prevents you from creating mailboxes on our server and you will have to handle this task on your own e-mail server.

E-Mail Spam Protection

SpamAssassin Filter

SpamAssassin is a powerful anti-spam filter. By analyzing each incoming message and evaluating it against a set of predefined rules created by us, the probability of each e-mail being spam is evaluated in a scale from 1 to 10. You can define a threshold from 1 to 10 and if a message exceeds your settings, it is treated as spam and is routed into your spam mailbox folder. SpamAssassin supports whitelists and blacklists with e-mail addresses. For more information about SpamAssassin, please consult our documentation.

Spamdyke

Spamdyke is a software against spam working on SMTP-level, e.g. before all other filters like SpamAssassin. Spammers often send e-mail messages from computers whose IP addresses don't have a reverse DNS (rDNS) record. Spamdyke makes sure that the computer which sends the e-mail has rDNS and if this isn't the case, the e-mail sending process is terminated without reaching further anti-spam software. Spamdyke can be turned on or off for all mailboxes.

Graylisting

Graylisting is part of the Spamdyke software. Before a particular e-mail is delivered into your mailbox, it has to be delivered from the sender's server to ours first. When the remote server tries to accomplish this, our server rejects the message, but writes into an internal table the address of the remote server. If the remote e-mail server is a legitimate one and is configured correctly, it will try to deliver the message again. Then our server will accept the message. Graylisting exploits a known spammer weakness – after the first failure they often don't try to send the e-mail again.

Header Filters

By using Header Filters, you can define your own anti-spam rules based on e-mail message headers. All incoming e-mails matching some of these rules will be dropped or redirected to your Spam Folder if you have enabled it. If you decide that a certain word in the Subject field suggests a spam message, you can create a new filter for this word. Some of the predefined headers in each e-mail are: From, To, CC, content-type, Received. Of course, you can always define your own headers with no restriction on their count. SPF Records

SPF (Sender Policy Framework) is a DNS record used to prevent spammers of entering your e-mail address as a reply address when sending spam. It describes which computer or server can send messages for your domain. If the server "X" checks the SPF record for your domain, it will see that the spammer isn't allowed to send e-mails from your e-mail address and will automatically drop the message.
