Catch-All If a certain mailbox is assigned as a "Catch-all" mailbox, all messages designated to non-existing mailboxes in your domain, will be delivered to this mailbox. If you have a mailbox mail@example.com (mailto:mail@example.com) and a business partner of yours sends an e-mail to ail@example.com (mailto:ail@example.com) omitting "m" from the beginning, this e-mail won't be lost if you have a "Catch-all" mailbox. In the example given you may have set up the catchall@example.com (mailto:catchall@example.com) "Catch-all" mailbox which will receive the e-mail for ail@example.com. (mailto:ail@example.com.) Forwarding By using e-mail redirection you can redirect each incoming message to another e-mail address, even to more than one. You specify if a copy of each redirected e-mail is left on the server. For example e-mail redirection may come in handy when you want your company to have one primary mailbox used by your business partners. Each partner can have a separate mailbox, but each e-mail is redirected to the primary mailbox, leaving a copy in the partner's mailbox. This allows you to have access to all received messages in the primary mailbox. All e-mails inside cannot be deleted by mistake from a business partner as you are the only one with access to the primary mailbox. For reliability reasons in case your e-mail server goes offline, you may choose to configure our e-mail server as backup. This way you are protected from network problems, power outages or hacker attacks on your own e-mail server. When our backup server receives an e-mail, it will try to send it to your own (primary) e-mail server until it succeeds. Please note that using this feature prevents you from creating mailboxes on our server and you will have to handle this task on your own e-mail server. E-Mail Spam Protection SpamAssassin Filter SpamAssassin is a powerful anti-spam filter. By analyzing each incoming message and evaluating it against a set of predefined rules created by us, the probability of each e-mail being spam is evaluated in a scale from 1 to 10. You can define a threshold from 1 to 10 and if a message exceeds your settings, it is treated as spam and is routed into your spam mailbox folder. SpamAssassin supports whitelists and blacklists with e-mail addresses. For more information about SpamAssassin, please consult our documentation. Spamdyke Spamdyke is a software against spam working on SMTP-level, e.g. before all other filters like SpamAssassin. Spammers often send e-mail messages from computers whose IP addresses don't have a reverse DNS (rDNS) record. Spamdyke makes sure that the computer which sends the e-mail has rDNS and if this isn't the case, the e-mail sending process is terminated without reaching further anti-spam software. Spamdyke can be turned on or off for all mailboxes. Graylisting Graylisting is part of the Spamdyke software. Before a particular e-mail is delivered into your mailbox, it has to be delivered from the sender's server to ours first. When the remote server tries to accomplish this, our server rejects the message, but writes into an internal table the address of the remote server. If the remote e-mail server is a legitimate one and is configured correctly, it will try to deliver the message again. Then our server will accept the message. Graylisting exploits a known spammer weakness – after the first failure they often don't try to send the e-mail again. Header Filters By using Header Filters, you can define your own anti-spam rules based on e-mail message headers. All incoming e-mails matching some of these rules will be dropped or redirected to your Spam Folder if you have enabled it. If you decide that a certain word in the Subject field suggests a spam message, you can create a new filter for this word. Some of the predefined headers in each e-mail are: From, To, CC, content-type, Received. Of course, you can always define your own headers with no restriction on their count. SPF Records SPF (Sender Policy Framework) is a DNS record used to prevent spammers of entering your e-mail address as a reply address when sending spam. It describes which computer or server can send messages for your domain. If the server "X" checks the SPF record for your domain, it will see that the spammer isn't allowed to send e-mails from your e-mail address and will automatically drop the message. DomainsCan Host ANY Domain We can host any domain name extension. You just have to register your Web site name and set the DNS servers for it to the ones we will give you, or use your own DNS servers and set up a zone to point to our server's IP address. Password Protected Directories Each of our hosting packages allows password protection of individual directories of your web site from unwanted access from a web browser. Users won't be able to access these directories without a username and password.The password protection can be turned on very easily from the online Control Panel. You should select the directory you want to protect and enter two fields – username and password. Of course, you can always add new users or delete existing ones. mod_security Mod_security is an Apache module responsible for protection of specific vulnerable software. RAID6 Server All hard drives of our servers are organized in the so called RAID6 (Redundant array of independent disks) array. This means that if two hard drives fail at the same time (which is highly unlikely), your information would still be intact. You and your customers won't notice the difference. In the meanwhile those two hard drives will be changed by our system administrators and the whole array will reconstruct dynamically by itself. Then our system engineers will copy the latest backup from a separate RAID6 server, which contains backup of your data from the last 7 days. System Backup on a Remote RAID6 Server: 7 Days Each day we perform automated backup and keep a copy on a remote RAID6 server. We keep all files and directories, e-mails and MySQL databases present by the time the backup is performed. These backup files can be used again through the Control Panel. Backup/Restore on Demand Our clients have the ability to perform their own backup manually any time in the day, 24/7. This procedure is allowed once a day. The backup of all files, mailboxes and MySQL databases can be performed through the Control Panel. This is especially useful before any major site contents or used software upgrade, because in case of an unsuccessful update, you can revert back all changes from the backup. Of course, you can restore files, e-mail messages or MySQL databases from our system backup as well. 24/7 Automated Monitoring System Our automated monitoring system allows us to monitor and control all servers and their condition in real-time. You can use your favorite FTP client to download these well structured and small logs for local analysis with appropriate software in case you find the on-server installed Webalizer and AwStats insufficient. FTP Log File Each FTP login to your hosting account is logged by the system and once a day your monthly log file from directory /logs is updated with records from the past 24 hours. In the end of the month this file is archived as ftp-log.log-month-year.gz. You have full access to these log files and they are never deleted. AWStats Statistics AWStats is a free software for log files analysis which is preinstalled on our servers. You benefit from this simplified ability to analyze the access patterns to your site without having to install additional software or having advanced skills. AWStats has a nice and well organized graphical interface usable directly from a web browser. You can analyze all log files sorted by dates. By default AWStats is disabled for your subdomains, but you can enable it with a simple click in our Control Panel for each one of them. For maximal security you can add username and password protection to the AWStats generated information. Webalizer Statistics Similar to AWStats, Webalizer is a free software for log file analysis. It has graphical web interface accessible from every web browser. Webalizer is installed on each of our servers and is activated by default for all your subdomains. The access to Webalizer is username and password secured. You can set the password in the Control PanelWebalizer is very intuitive and doesn't require any special skills.
